Outdoor Teaching Kitchen

Dietitian-led cooking classes using freshly harvested ingredients. All meals are prepared and enjoyed on our farm table, right in the middle of our fields. Well-behaved individuals of all ages welcome!

Classes last 3 hours and include a farm tour, produce harvest, and the hands-on preparation of 3-4 versatile dishes to optimize everyday health. Allergy and plant/animal protein preferences will be accommodated if communicated at the time of reservation.

Balanced and Delicious: Eating well for all 4 seasons

Satisfying Salads: Stay nourished and full until the next meal

Controlling Your Carbs the Colorful Way: Includes guidance for those counting carbs and understanding glycemic load

Successful Management of Conjestive Heart Failure: Incorporating fluid and sodium restrictions into delicious meals

Managing Chronic Kidney Disease-a Fresh Approach: Includes guidance for managing protein, sodium, potassium, and phosphorus in the diet

Farm to FODMAP: Eating a variety of fruits and vegetable without aggravating your symptoms

Fresh Fermentation: an introduction into lacto-fermentation using freshly harvested produce to maximize probiotics and live culture activity.

Rates

Classes offered by reservation only at this time. Participation in a class directly  funds volunteer nutrition education classes for low-income and food insecure participants.

Groups of up to 10: $ 50 person, $300 minimum *

*Discount rates available for certain education groups. Please inquire*

Individuals: $ 150 per person. ** Price includes  a one-on-one nutrition consultation over the phone prior to the visit. Recipes will be tailored to address  specific dietary recommendations as needed. Also available for couples ( $250).

**Caretakers of individuals who do not cook for themselves who wish to attend the class are included in this price**

The kitchen is also available to rent for private events
